The book fair ignites the love of literacy and raises much needed funds for GHPTA!
There will be ONE Book Fair this school year. We are THANKFUL for these dates:
November 16-20, 2026
AFTER SCHOOL SALES TIMES:
Mon: After school til 7:00 (closes during Mugglebee's show 4:45-5:30)
Tues, Weds, Thurs: After school til 5:30!
Fri: Clean up!

We need many hands before, during, & after! Take note of the volunteer clearance needed for each role.
Key:
🔴 = Level 2 (TB, Fingerprint, Training) Volunteer Clearance needed
🟡 = Level 1 (TB Form) Volunteer Clearance needed
🟢 = NO Level 1 or Level 2 Volunteer Clearance needed
Keep in mind the holidays we have off school (Veterans' Day Nov 11, Thanksgiving week Nov 23-27) and the Mugglebee's Moana Jr. performance (Mon Nov 16) and Multicultural Night Social (Wed Nov 18). It's a busy time on the George Hall calendar!
I. Pre-fair Setup & Post-Fair Breakdown: Event production help is needed during the weeks prior and on closing day Friday 11/20 from 12:00 on! As there is no contact with students, 🟢 NO Level 1 or Level 2 Volunteer Clearance needed for this type of help.
- October 23: Begin to hang exterior signage
- Week of Nov 2-6: More exterior signage, posters, flyers
- Week of Nov 9-13: Remaining signage. Set up LGI decor, tables, and Scholastic shelves & merch when it all arrives!
- Post-Fair Breakdown ALL HANDS ON DECK: Friday 11/20 from 12:00 on
II. Helpful Parent Visitors are needed during school hours. Each teacher has a 30min timeslot - sign up for the time your teacher picked. As these are teacher-supervised & short duration, 🟢 NO Level 1 or Level 2 Volunteer Clearance needed for this type of help. We appreciate that you'll help kids (including your own) follow Book Fair rules, look for books, and do some math when purchasing.
III. School-hours Book Fair Cashiers are needed any time classes come through. The available times classes can come are: Monday/Wednesday/Friday AMs, and Tuesday/Thursday basically all day except recess and lunch. As these are longer student interaction times, 🟡 Level 1 (TB Form) Volunteer Clearance needed. You do NOT have select the time when your teacher visits! If you can do a partial, just write that in.
IV. After-school Book Fair Cashiers are needed after school on M-TH, when anyone in the community can shop! Times are listed below.🔴 Level 2 (TB, Fingerprint, Training) Volunteer Clearance needed for this role as these are longer student interaction times, there is no direct supervision by district staff, and we prioritize the health and safety of all community members.

IN PERSON
The Book Fair will be located in the LGI. It's a busy area of campus even after hours -- right next to the indoor and outdoor areas utilized by our after school Annex program and new enrichment programs. We will do our best to get the Book Fair staffed Monday through Thursday after school for in person shopping, but this will depend on the availability of parent volunteers of course. Contribute to the George Hall PTA E-Wallet DONATE - help the PTA buy books for kids who might not have otherwise been able to! We recognize that sales events on campus, like Book Fairs, are not "fair" to everyone. As one of its Book Fair Equity Objectives, George Hall PTA opens up an e-wallet for anyone in our community to contribute to. Funds donated to this e-wallet will be used to buy books for students who might not have otherwise been able to get one. Talk to Ms. Perez in the Office if you have recipient-end questions about how funds are used from the George Hall PTA e-wallet. |
"Share the Fair"
Scholastic also keeps Book Fair equity in mind with its built-in "Share the Fair" program. In-person buyers will be given the opportunity to Round Up To Donate any time they transact at the cash register. On-line buyers can also find Share the Fair and contriubute electronically! Funds from "Share the Fair" can also be dipped into to buy books for students who might not have otherwise been able to get one, or can be utilized for broader applications (classroom and school books & supplies).
